Let’s just look at UH v. A&M, for example. They began playing in 1976. Overall, they are 6-14 against A&M. They have never even beaten A&M 2 years in a row. In the last 10, they went 1-9. In 1978 they beat A&M 33-0. In their other 5 wins, their largest margin of victory was 11 points. I can’t seem to find the “domination” you speak of. Please point me in the right direction.

They began playing Texas the same year. Their record against UT is 7-14-1. More games because they played UT in ‘00 and ‘01. They were able to pick up 3 in a row against Texas in in ‘87 to ‘89. Their other 4 wins were surrounded my multiple losses. Again, I can’t find the domination.

You mention 3 bowl games, but why don’t you go take a look at UH’s record in their bowl games after those 3. It won’t take you long because there aren’t very many.

I concede that UH has a Heisman winner and Alabama doesn’t. Alabama has 12 national championships. How many does UH have?

UH has won 111 games since 1985. That’s an average of 5 wins per season.

You should really write a blog about a topic you know something about. Houston had a number of great years under both Bill Yeoman and Jack Pardee. Houston was a four-time champion of the SWC–dominating the likes of Texas, A&M, Arkansas–and winning bowl games against teams like Nebraska, Notre Dame (The refs handed the ‘79 game to Broadway Joe but UH won) and Randy White’s Maryland team. Houston has had a Heisman trophy winner–Houston 1, Alabama O–and has had scores of players drafted by the NFL including the Eagles’ future QB. UH football gave the world option offense and introduced integrated teams to the South in the historic year of 1964.
